Khabib Nurmagomedov signed a deal with the UFC in 2011. His debut was in January of 2012 and for the first 2 years of his careeer in the UFC he remained healthy, winning his 6 fights.
Nurmagomedov was briefly linked to a bout with Donald Cerrone on September 27, 2014 at UFC 178. However, the bout was quickly scrapped after it was revealed that Nurmagomedov injured one of his knees. He was later expected to face ‘Cowboy’ on May 23, 2015 at UFC 187. But, Nurmagomedov pulled out of the bout again on April 30 due to a recurring knee injury.
Nurmagomedov was expected to face Tony Ferguson on December 11, 2015 at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale. However, Nurmagomedov pulled out of the fight in late October citing another injury and was replaced by Edson Barboza.
So it seems like Dana White and the UFC have to keep their fingers crossed each time they schedule a member of AKA.SHARE:
