Cain Velasquez vs Fabrico Werdum in the works for UFC 207
Two former champions will likely collide at UFC 207, as MMA Junkie is reporting that the fight has been offered to both men, who are interested in meeting in the Octagon for the second time.
Fabricio Werdum dethroned Cain Velasquez for the heavyweight title back at UFC 188 in Mexico City. Werdum would go on to lose the title in his very next fight at UFC 198 to current champion Stipe Miocic.
In Velasquez’s first fight after losing the title to Werdum, he manhandled Travis Browne at the UFC’s monumental UFC 200 card this past July.
Cain Velasquez was likely in line next to face reigning champion Stipe Miocic, however, the champion has requested some time off after his thrilling KO of Alistair Overeem at UFC 203.
UFC 207 is set to take place on December 30th, 2016 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
