Carlos Condit Targeting a Late-February or March Return
Former UFC welterweight interim champion Carlos Condit has been sidelined since he injured his knee in his Tyron Woodley fight, back at UFC 171. After the fight, it was discovered that Condit had suffered a torn ACL and partially torn meniscus which would require surgery.
According to Carlos Condit’s manager, Malki Kawa, ‘The Natural Born Killer’ is working on a late-February or March 2015 return to the Octagon.
Here’s what he told FRB Show podcast host, Front Row Brian:
“Carlos Condit should be back probablly end of February – March I would say. So he’s on pace to come back”
Carlos Condit has an MMA record of 29-8 (6-4 UFC). He is also a former WEC welterweight champion. Condit quickly became a UFC fan favorite with his aggressive style and diverse striking ability.
He has notable wins over the likes of Frank Trigg, Jake Ellenberger, Rory MacDonald, Dong Hyun Kim, Nick Diaz and Martin Kampmann.
Carlos Condit fought former UFC champion Georges St-Pierre in a title unification fight back at UFC 154. Although Condit had St-Pierre in trouble when he landed a head-kick, followed by some ground-and-pound, he lost a unanimous decision to the former welterweight king.
Malki Kawa is the first guest on the podcast and makes the Condit comments at the 47:56 mark of the show. He also discusses the UFC Reebok deal and the newly signed former WWE star, CM Punk. Make sure to give the entire show a listen.
