Rodriguez, who recently came to terms on a release with the WWE, met with co-founder of the UFC Campbell McClaren and said he was very thrilled with the opportunity. “The moment Campbell McClaren sent me the prospect I said yes immediately,” Rodriguez said to ESPN.com.
Rodriguez will appear to be a talent scout and aid them in the promotion, “I’m going to be recruiting fighters and I’m going to be there to help them get to the place that they want to get,” Rodriguez commented. “We have a lot of talent in the company. Most of that talent is Hispanic. That makes me really happy to be able to help them.”
Rodriguez mentions the accomplishments of top MMA stars Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor, and believes Combate Americas can become the No. 2 MMA promotion around the world with guidance and the right promotional skills.
