UFC featherweight Conor McGregor, who’s coming off a first round TKO victory over Dustin Poirier, last weekend at UFC 178, has now claimed his next opponent is lined up. The Irish star posted on Twitter that he’ll be stepping in the Octagon with Diego Sanchez at UFC 180 in Mexico, on November 15th.
I am fighting @DiegoSanchezUFC in Mexico, November 15th. He spoke a big game. Now he will pay with his career. VIVA LA EIRE!!!

It’s unclear at this point if the fight is official, or if McGregor is looking to instigate a war of words with Sanchez, as he has in the past.
If the fight is really happening, it will be interesting to see if McGregor will move up to lightweight for it, or if Sanchez will make the move to featherweight.
With McGregor not being too far away from being granted a UFC featherweight title shot, it appears he’d be taking the fight to settle some bad blood, or to pick up a win over a popular fighter.
Either way, stylistically, the fight should turn out to be a very entertaining one.
UFC 180 is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum.
