Dada 5000 Suffered Heart Failure After Kimbo Slice Fight
Dhafir Harris — also known as Dada 5000 — reportedly suffered heart failure last night at the Hospital, after being transported there from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Dada 5000 took on bitter rival, Kimbo Slice, in Bellator 149’s co-main event, last evening.
Kimbo Slice finished the fight in the third round, when he landed a grazing shot on Dhafir Harris’ shoulder, which sent Harris awkwardly tumbling to the ground. Dhafir Harris needed to be placed on a stretcher and removed from the Bellator cage when the fight was over.
Rumors were running rampant on social media last night, that Harris suffered a heart attack in the cage after the fight. Today, Jeremy Botter has revealed the Harris did suffer from heart failure while at the Hospital, and was placed on a ventilator.
The Bellator 149 event was overseen by the Texas Combative Sports Commission. In order for fighters to get licensed to compete, they need to go through extensive medical examinations.
It’s expected that the 38-year-old Harris will make a full recovery. Harris’ family also issued a statement on the situation, which you can see below.
