Dana White on Nate Diaz – “All He’s Been Doing is Complaining”

UFC lightweight Nate Diaz is set to make his return to the UFC’s Octagon at UFC on FOX 13 this weekend. The Stockton, California native has not fought since November of 2013 when defeated Gray Maynard at the TUF finale. But it wasn’t an injury that’s kept him from fighting this whole time, instead, Diaz was unhappy with his contract and decided to sit out.

Diaz’s decision frustrated many fans and the UFC since Nate Diaz is known to put on some of the most exciting fights in the Octagon. And after he decided to come back, you’d think all would be well. But unfortunately, that’s not the case.

Nate Diaz recently went on a massive rant about the UFC’s Reebok apparel deal, the UFC’s signing of CM Punk and more. He also failed to show up for a mandatory open workout for the UFC on FOX 13 event, as well as missing weight by four-pounds for his fight against Rafael dos Anjos.

During a TUF 20 Finale post-fight interview, UFC president Dana White was asked about this situation and had this to say:

“The guy is complaining about money, but he’s done tons of things to ensure that he gets fined. He is complaining about the CM Punk deal.

All he’s been doing is complaining, not showing up for stuff, and now he doesn’t make weight and he’s four pounds over. I don’t know what to do with him if he wins. You know, there’s a laundry list of problems there.”

Could the UFC cut Nate Diaz if he loses this weekend to Rafael dos Anjos? It sure seems like the UFC president has had enough of Nate Diaz’s antics. But would it be a wise move to cut a fighter who’s got a big fan-base and could sign with a rival organization? Only time will tell.
