Dana White furious with Roy Nelson for ‘kicking’ John McCarthy
UFC president Dana White was recently a guest on the UFC Unfiltered podcast and was asked to comment about the incident that saw UFC heavyweight Roy Nelson give a push-kick to referee John McCarthy, for what he felt was a late stoppage in his fight against Antonio Silva.
Here’s what he said:
“You can’t apologize for that. You don’t ever, ever put your f–king hands on a referee, or your feet, for any reason whatso f–king ever. You don’t do it. He needs to be buried. He went over there and he put his foot on his ass to like push him over, you know what I mean? Was flipping him off, yelling whatever. You wanna flip a ref off, there is never, ever a situation where you put your f–king hands on a referee. Ever.”
Roy Nelson defeated Antonio Silva via knockout at UFC Fight Night 95. It will be interesting to see what’s in store for Roy Nelson. It didn’t seem like Nelson had intentions to hurt McCarthy, but touching a referee in such a manner can get a fighter in hot water with the overseeing commission. In this case, the Brazilian commission decided to take no action.
Here’s the audio of Dana White talking about it below.
