Conor McGregor, UFC and Irish MMA superstar has become one of the most talked about athletes for the past 1-2 years.
And with good reason too as he has taken over the sport by storm. Dispatching of Jose Aldo in thirteen seconds at UFC 194 to win featherweight gold, putting on fight of the nights with Nate Diaz twice, afterwards he destroyed then-lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez to become a dual-weight world champion as Madison Square Garden.
That’s quite a bit of fighting for McGregor, four fights in eleven months to be exact. He has requested some time off after bringing much revenue and dollar signs to the promotion, breaking PPV records and live gates.
Dana White spoke with LA Times to let everyone know, “He won’t fight before may.”
“He’s good. He should take time off. He’s been fighting nonstop. Nothing wrong with him taking time off. It’s good for him and her and it’s good for the baby.” In reference to McGregor announcing at the UFC 205 post-fight pressor that he was becoming a daddy sometime next year with his longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin.
While it could hurt the UFC’s pockets with McGregor taking a vacation, White concludes that he has no worries as they’ve gone through this for sixteen years.
