Don Frye hospitalized and not doing well
Extremely sad news, as it appears MMA legend and UFC Hall of Fame member Don Frye is hospitalized and is not doing too well. The news was discovered when long-time credible poster, ocbadapple, took to the Underground Forums and revealed the situation, saying:
Apparently Don has been at Cedars Sinai for about a week and has had some issues , with among other things, pneumonia. I’m told he’s not doing too good.
Don Frye accumulated a 10-1 record during four events over a span of 11 months in 1996. His mixed martial arts career began at UFC 8: David vs Goliath, where he defeated three opponents, including defeating Gary Goodridge in the finals to capture the tournament title.
Over the course of his 15-year career, Frye also competed in PRIDE Fighting Championships, earning wins over UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock and Yoshihiro Takayama at PRIDE 19 and 21, respectively.
Don Frye is known as one of the greatest bad-asses in combat sports and I sincerely hope he overcomes his health issues and continues to live a happy and eventful life.
