The injury bug claims another victim as UFC Middleweight contender, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza has been forced to withdraw from his bout with Yoel Romero for UFC 184.

UFC officials made the announcement Thursday night that Jacare has fallen sick with pneumonia and the fight is being rescheduled for a later date. Yoel Romero as a result will also be taken off the fight card.

UFC 184 is currently set to take place at the Los Angeles Staples Center being headlined by a pair of title fights: UFC Middleweight Champion, Chris Weidman defending his belt against Vitor Belfort and UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey defending her’s against Cat Zingano. The event will take place on February 28 on PPV.

Both Jacare and Romero are undefeated in the UFC. Jacare is 4-0 and is ranked #2 in the UFC’s official rankings while Romero is 5-0 and ranked #6. The fight was a potential number one contender’s fight for the middleweight championship on the same card.
