Jim Miller vs. Takanori Gomi New Addition To UFC 200

Among the previously reported UFC 200 bouts just announced there was also a new fight not reported before that was officially added to the card between lightweights Jim Miller and Takanori Gomi.

The aforementioned previously reported fights that were announced by the UFC on UFC Tonight is a heavyweight bout between former champ Cain Velasquez and Travis Browne, middleweight bout between surging contenders Derek Brunson and Gegard Mousasi and a lightweight title between longtime veterans Joe Lauzon and Diego Sanchez.

Though both Gomi and Miller are well liked by fans this may be a loser leaves town match as both men are on two fight losing streaks, with the next loss possibly leading to an exit from the UFC for either fighter.

Miller is a dismal 1-4 in his last 5 fights, most recently losing to Diego Sanchez at UFC 196. He has been in the UFC since 2008 with big wins over notables like Joe Lauzon, Charles Oliveira, Melvin Guillard, Duane Ludwig and Gleison Tibau, among others.

Gomi suffered his second straight loss to Joe Lauzon at last July’s UFC on Fox 16 event. The former Pride champion just hasn’t quite gotten on a roll during his 6-year stint with the UFC, going 4-6 over that span with the promotion.

UFC 200 takes place on July 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada and it will be headlined by a mega welterweight rematch between UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor and top ranked lightweight Nate Diaz.

In the co-headliner, former UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar will take on former featherweight champ Jose Aldo for the interim featherweight title.
