UFC Fight Night 59: Louis Taylor Out of Uriah Hall Fight Due to Injury
A middleweight bout between Uriah Hall and Louis Taylor was scheduled to take place on the main card of next weekends UFC Fight Night 59 event in Boston. However, according to MMA Heat, Taylor has pulled out of the fight with a back injury:
“Bad news… Pulled a muscle in my back can’t fight next Sunday. Would’ve like to say UFC was understanding but they pulled my contract. All I can say is health over wealth”
As you can see, he also reveals that the UFC ‘pulled his contact’. Louis Taylor was signed by the UFC to take on Hall on short notice when Costas Philippou was forced out with an injury. There’s possibly more to the story than what’s available at the moment.
The UFC doesn’t just terminate contracts when fighters get injured. Perhaps they felt Taylor was trying to over-sell the injury to get out of the fight. The UFC has yet to release an official statement on the situation.
It’s also unknown if the UFC intends to seek another short-notice replacement to face Hall. Or if they’ll just pull him from the event altogether.
Vendetta Fighter will provide updates as they come.
