Matt Hamill Wants Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson Rematch in Bellator
Retired MMA fighter Matt Hamill has revealed he would like to return to the cage, but not in the UFC or WSOF; who he last signed a contract with. Taking to his official Twitter account, the former TUF cast member revealed he wants a rematch with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, and he wants the fight to take place in Bellator.
Matt Hamill last saw action when he faced Thiago Silva at UFC Fight Night 29 and lost via unanimous decision. After the loss, he was released from the UFC.
Hamill went on to sign a contract with World Series of Fighting. However, due to several nagging injuries, he was unable to make his debut for the organization and decided to retire.
Matt Hamill and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson headlined UFC 130, which took place on May 28th, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hamill was the massive underdog against the former UFC light heavyweight champion and lost a unanimous decision. But even though he lost, he proved he could hang in there with Jackson.
This call-out is very interesting, considering that Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson recently revealed he regretted leaving UFC for Bellator. Jackson doesn’t have much to gain by accepting the rematch with Hamill, since he already holds the victory over him.
Bellator president Scott Coker hasn’t responded to Hamill, at least publicly as of yet. But according to Hamill’s facebook page – He is currently waiting for a Bellator contract.
