Matt Mitrione Signs With Bellator
Former UFC heavyweight fighter, Matt Mitrione, has signed a deal with Bellator MMA. The TUF 10 cast member just revealed the news on The MMA Hour, hosted by Ariel Helwani.
Here’s what Mitrione had to say about it:
“After a lovely free-agency period, I decided I’m going to go to Bellator. I was really interested in the options Bellator was offering and I was really interested in the conversation they were willing to have.
I think they’re making the right moves and sometimes you get into a spot where the things you fell in love with in one organization don’t seem to be there anymore, and greener pastures might be somewhere else.”
Matt Mitrione is a former NFL player. Mitrione was a cast member on the tenth season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. After the show, he made his professional MMA debut in the UFC, at the TUF 10 finale. Mitrione started his UFC career with five-straight wins.
He leaves the UFC going 9-5 in the organization. One fight that he’s likely interested in at Bellator, is a rematch with Cheik Kingo, a man who has a decision victory over him.
