Dana White Confirms Conor McGregor Gets Title Shot With Win Over Dennis Siver
UFC president, Dana White has confirmed that Irish star, Conor McGregor will be granted the next featherweight title shot, should be beat Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night 59. Brett Okamoto of ESPN revealed the news on his Twitter account.
Conor McGregor is 16-2 in his MMA career. He’s gone a perfect 4-0 in the UFC since he made his debut against Marcus Brimage at UFC on Fuel TV 9.
Dennis Siver is a long-time UFC veteran and has a 11-6-1 record in the organization. Siver won his last fight in the Octagon against Charles Rosa at UFC Fight Night 53.
Jose Aldo is the current UFC featherweight champion. Aldo’s held the title since it’s inauguration in 2011. He’s successfully defended his title seven times in the Octagon.
The UFC would certainly be able to hold a potential McGregor vs Aldo title fight in a stadium in Ireland, or Brazil should they choose to go that route.
Dana White confirms Conor McGregor will get title shot if he wins in January. Expect Dublin in May.
