Miesha Tate Open to Catchweight Fight With Felice Herrig

UFC women’s bantamweight contender Miesha Tate and TUF 20 cast member Felice Herrig have been going at each other verbally on Twitter for the past couple weeks now. It has now gotten to the point where Tate would be open to a catchweight fight with Herrig at a weight of 125lbs, which is right in the middle of their current weight classes, as Miesha Tate fights at 135lbs and Felice Herrig at 115lbs.

When FOX Sports spoke to Miesha Tate and made the suggestion of the possible fight, here was her reply:

“Oh yeah. Please. That would be great. I don’t know if [Herrig is] necessarily a bad person. She’s just kind of annoying, because she’s really dramatic sometimes and it just kind of rubs me the wrong way. Sean Shelby, are you hearing this? 125!”

Felice Herrig is currently training to take on an undisclosed opponent at the TUF 20 Finale on December 12th, 2014 at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada

The TUF 20 season is currently airing, and so far in the show Herrig defeated bitter Rival, and good friend of Tate, Heather Clark in the preliminary round, and is facing Randa Markos in the quarter finals.

Miesha Tate recently got her next opponent as she will step in the Octagon with Sara McMann at UFC 183 on January 31st, 2015 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It’s not very likely the UFC would match Tate and Herrig up in a fight, but if the tension between the two ladies keeps up, you just never know.

After hearing that Miesha Tate would accept the hypothetical catchweight fight with her, Felice Herrig wasted no time in taking to Twitter to voice her opinion on it.
