Cody McKenzie is being a gracious host for the featherweight division. Upon hearing former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar decided to drop a weight class, Cody is looking to welcome him with a fight in December.
McKenzie took to Twitter to issue a challenge.
I heard frankie edger just moved to 145 ad wants a fight before the end of the year dec 8th seattle lets fight!!!!! #WARSEATTLE
to @FrankieEdgar if your looking for a fight by the end of the year I am in for dec 8th Seattle if you have any say in who your fighting.
UFC President Dana White would love nothing more than to match up Edgar against champion Jose Aldo as soon as possible. A win over McKenzie may do that but Dana likely have had a higher ranked opponent in mind such as The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung.
Nothing official has been announced so it is all speculation at this point.
