The UFC president did his regular post event media scrum in Sweden after UFC on FUEL 2 and commented on the social network rally for Mark Hunt to replace Alistair Overeem in the UFC 146 title fight:
“Yes (I’ve seen the Twitter rally for Mark Hunt). They can keep rallying, It ain’t going to happen. You don’t just jump right into the title shot. I guarantee you this, if (Hunt) beats Struve, his next fight will be against somebody in the top five that can get him closer to that title shot.”
Although some fans may be upset, Hunt is still realistically 2-3 wins away from being the #1 contender. But stylistically Hunt vs. Dos Santos would have been fireworks and entertaining. Hunt takes on Struve at UFC 146.
