Despite the initial report from MMAJunkie & then picked up by several MMA news outlets, Tim Sylvia will not be fighting Daniel Cormier September 29 in Strikeforce & is not part of the Zuffa organization.
UFC President Dana White spoke to MMA.tv to clear up the situation.
‘long story, but yes, Tim is not with Zuffa.’
It appears negotiations were underway but either a deal could not be reached or the offer was pulled off the table. No opponent for Cormier has been announced at this time. With the large majority of heavyweights under contract in the UFC the choices are very slim.
