Late Tuesday night, news broke via @sportsrage, who is the host of MMA Meltdown on The Fight Network, that former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has suffered an injury that has forced him out of his November 3rd fight with Strikeforce grand prix champion Daniel Cormier.
This will certainly leave ZUFFA/UFC scrambling to get a new opponent for the fast rising star Cormier. The injury has not been revealed at this time. We will monitor any more news on this subject tonight/early morning and try to provide you with more information.
2012 has not been kind to the UFC in regards to injuries. Many fighters in main and co-main events have suffered injuries that have dramatically changed an entire fight card.
Earlier this month, the UFC had to cancel an event for the first time in their 12 year ownership (ZUFFA) of the organization, when Dan Henderson advised the UFC his was injured, just eight days prior to UFC 151.

UFC heavyweight Fabricio Werdum has expressed interest in taking the fight vs. Cormier.
