The final step in UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre’s road to recovery has happened. GSP posted a message on his Facebook page that is very good news to his fans.
Yesterday was the final chapter of my Road to Recovery- I’m now medically cleared to compete in professional mixed martial arts! Big thanks to all my fans for the amazing support during those 9 long months of rehab- couldn’t have done it without you. Also special thanks to Dr. ElAttrache and Heather at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic + Gavin MacMillan at Sport Science Lab. I’ve been so lucky to work with such professional and kind people and I’ve learned a lot from them. It’s been an incredible experience. Rendez-vous le 17 novembre, UFC 154, Montréal!!!
It appears nothing is standing in the way of the main event between GSP & Carlos Condit at UFC 154 in Montreal from happening. Condit is the interim champion & the winner will merge the belts into one.
If GSP is able to win a potential super fight with middleweight champion Anderson Silva may be on the horizon. Even if he loses Silva has expresses an interest in fighting GSP still.
GSP is coming back from a terrible knee injury & many athletes are not the same with they tear an ACL. GSP’s first step back is to defeat Condit. Until then any talk of a super fight is just speculation.
