UFC light-heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, took to his official Twitter account and asked fans who they wanted to see him fight next. It seems majority of the fans relied with ‘Chael Sonnen’, which led Jones to admit, he is warming up to the idea.
“The more I realize how bad the fans want to see me fight Sonnen the more I am beginning to disregard whether he deserves it or not.
A part of me wants to do it for the fans the other part of me feels as if it delegitimizes the importance of championship.”
Jones, turned down the chance to face the former number one middleweight contender, back when Dan Henderson advised the UFC that he was out due to injury for UFC 151.
After deliberating with his coach Greg Jackson, Jones took a pass on fighting Sonnen, which was met with harsh criticism from UFC president Dana White.
Chael Sonnen is scheduled to make his UFC light-heavyweight debut against Forrest Griffin at UFC 155 on December 29th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jon Jones, defended his title back at UFC 152 against Vitor Belfort and could be sidelined for a while, due to an arm injury he sustained from an armbar attempt from Belfort.
