UFC welterweight Mike Swick, spoke to Ariel Helwani after he partook in his first fight in over two years. Swick scored an impressive second round TKO win over DaMarques Johnson.
“By round two, it was 100-percent trying to finish. I had enough in round one to know that ‘okay, this is fun, but I’ve gotta finish this fight, I want this fight to be over.’ Every punch I threw was hard. It was to end the fight.
He gave me an opening, he threw a kick. When he gave me a limb that he’s balancing on, he has two legs, when he gave me one of them, I was like, ‘I’m putting him down.
If I have one of his limbs, I’m going to throw him down and then land that hard right punch.’ Thank god it landed right on his face and got the knockout because he’s a tough kid.”
