Former Boxing champion Ricardo Mayorga, took part in his first Mixed Martial Arts fight tonight in Managua, Nicaragua for a promotion called Omega MMA. The 39 year old was matched up with Wesley Tiffer, who’s a Canadian Mixed Martial Artist with an 0-2 record.

The first round saw Tiffer implementing his ground game, with Mayorga actually getting a sweep midway though the round, and landing some ground and pound.

The second round was much the same, but this time Tiffer would sink in a triangle choke on Mayorga, which looked like it was the beginning of the end for the Nicaraguan.

But Mayorga threw a brutal knee to Tiffer’s spine, that allowed Mayorga to break free and follow up with some ground and pound, while Tiffer laid there is excruciating pain from the strike, which is illegal in the unified rules of MMA.

After laying on the canvas for a few minutes, cageside Doctors checked out Tiffer, who was unable to continue. Ricardo Mayorga was then declared the winner via TKO (Doctor stoppage).
