There is a growing conspiracy theory on the world wide web that UFC light heavyweight number one contender, Dan Henderson is on the verge of pulling out of his UFC 151 bout with Jon Jones which is set for September 1st in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Former UFC fighter turned commentator, Kenny Florian tweeted just a couple of hours ago:
“Hearing that we may have some disappointed @ufc fans soon due to some unfortunate circumstances for an upcoming card.”
This was soon followed by MMA journalist, Jeremy Botter who added:
“If what I’m hearing is correct, UFC 151 may be in desperate need of a main event. And that sucks.”
Rumours began to circulate about the condition of “Hendo” who quickly took to his Twitter account in an attempt to quell any hysteria.
“Just got done with a great training session with the boys. @CyrilleDiabate @tarecfighter @heathlsims @RFBJJ @rockholdMMA”
Impressively, each of the fighters mentioned in the post quickly re-tweeted the status of their leader within minutes of it being made, some would say in an attempt to lend credibility to it.
One problem still remains however as Strikeforce welterweight contender, Tarec Saffadine, one of the fighters mentioned in the above tweet, revealed earlier that Henderson hadn’t been seen in the gym all week, a status that prompted further speculation.
