Rumour: UFC Trying to Set Up Rampage vs. Gustafsson Fight

A source has revealed to Fighters Only Magazine, that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has turned down a recent offer from the UFC to fight Phil Davis. Jackson has made it clear he is sick of being lined up with wrestlers who try and hold him down and win fights on Octagon control.

Apparently the UFC has stepped up and offered Rampage a fight with Swedish rising star Alexander Gustafsson, who is coming off a unanimous decision win over Thiago Silva this past weekend.

Quinton Jackson wants to have a rematch with Maurico “Shogun” Rua for the last fight on his contract, and possible last fight in MMA.

But with Jackson taking many verbal jabs at the UFC via his Twitter account and interviews, it’s unlikely they will comply with his wishes.

The UFC has been known in the past to give fighters who are leaving the promotion tough opponents so they have a good chance at leaving on a loss.
