Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia has gotten a second chance with ZUFFA by signing with Strikeforce and will take on the Grand Prix winner, Daniel Cormier.
Sources close to the situation confirmed the news to mmajunkie.com. Many fans took to Twitter and rallied for Syliva to get another chance in the UFC. Instead, with a void to fill in the Strikefocre heavyweight division, ZUFFA decided to put Syliva up against Cormier, who needs to compete one more time for Showtime before heading to the UFC.
The event in which Sylvia vs. Cormier takes place, is planned for September 29th at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento, California.
