Strikeforce’s Jacare Souza Wants To Take Belfort’s Spot At UFC 153 In Brazil

Strikeforce middleweight Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, spoke with Tatame.com and revealed that he wants to take the now vacant spot Vitor Belfort has left on the UFC 153 card, by taking on Jon Jones at UFC 152 in Toronto, September 22nd.

“I was surprise. I’m in Sao Paulo and I’m not checking my Twitter account that much. When I saw it there were lots of messages. It scared me! They (Fans) really wanted to see me fight at UFC Rio 3 and I’m glad they feel that way.

I would’ve said yes at the spot. Fighting in Brazil at Ultimate, I would’ve accepted it. Especially against Alan Belcher, he’s a phenom. He’s a great fighter, a top 5 of the division.

He did a good job defending the foot lock and then got a phenomenal knockout. It makes me want this fight even harder”.

It’s highly unlike this scenario will happen. For starters, SHOWTIME, who owns the broadcasting rights to Strikeforce events, are not allowing the stars of Strikeforce to make the jump to the UFC.

Also, Alan Belcher recently revealed that He is injured and does not plan on fighting until November.

UFC 153 take place October 13th 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
