UFC 147 – Jose Aldo To Defend His Belt Against Erik Koch

A source close to Roufusport MMA Academy revealed to cagepotato.com although there is no official word from either fighter or the promotion itself.

Jose Aldo is seen by many as a top 5 pound for pound MMA fighter. He was originally set to defend his belt at UFC 149 in Calgary against an opponent that was not yet named.

But earlier this week with the UFC pulling Silva vs. Sonnen 2 off the UFC 147 card, they needed to fill the void.

Koch is 13-1 overall and has won both of his fights inside the octagon. He picked up a Knockout of the Night win over Raphael Assuncao and a unanimous decision victory over Ultimate Fighter season twelve winner, Jonathan Brookins. He was scheduled to return against Dustin Poirier at UFC 143 in February, but had to withdraw due to injury.
