The UFC has Announced it will have an Australian edition of its reality television series The Ultimate Fighter, giving Australian and British mixed martial artists the opportunity to win a contract with the organization.
Tryouts are scheduled for June 12th in Sydney and June 15th in London, will be open to fighters from 61 to 77 kilograms (135Lbs. – 170Lbs ).
Participants must be between 21 and 35 years of age and have had at least three professional fights with at least two wins.
The theme is called “The Smashes,” a play on words of the 130-year-old cricket rivalry between the two nations known as “The Ashes”.
Broadcast plans for the series have yet to be announced. But it will air via tape delay when it does.
