Video: Olympic Gold Medalist Vyacheslav Oliynyk Fights Off 7 Police Officers

Vyacheslav Oliynyk is a Ukrainian gold medalist from the 1996 olympic games and it turns out that in the morning he got intoxicated first thing in the morning and then he tried to drive while he was under the influence.

Oliynyk was pulled over for drunk driving. He then resisted the officers that tried to arrest him and Oliynyk even continued to fight at them when he was pepper sprayed and struck by batons. Oliynyk turned 50 the day this happened and he still has plenty of strength left because it took 7 officers to eventually take him down.

Oliynyk spoke to Unilad about this and mentioned:

“I admit I was partially guilty, I can’t tell you the whole thing. I’m partly guilty because I did not stop and I was ignoring the police. But I am not a criminal. As far as I can see there will be a court hearing and they will punish me somehow because they always do. However the fact that police let me go home on the same day shows I didn’t do anything that bad.”

Ukrainian officials later let him go the same day, so it is rather strange how everything turned out. Olyinyk still has clearly shown that he has some fight left in him for sure.
