Randy Couture Was Offered To Come Back To MMA
According to mmafighting.com, Randy Couture has been approached about throwing his hat back into the cage. Couture is a legend of mixed martial arts. Couture has retired and then came back from retirement to become a champion again. A lot of smaller organizations outside of the UFC would likely be interested in having him come out of retirement, but he does not have an interest in coming back.
He was approached about possibly fighting when Fedor Emelianenko came back and these were his words:
“I was approached when Fedor [Emelianenko] threw his hat back into the ring after a four, five year layoff,” Couture told Inside MMA on Friday. “I was the first one they came to. It’s certainly something you have to consider and take seriously, but it’s not really about money. I think one of the more rational decisions I’ve probably made in my life was the decision to step down and hang them up.”
Couture is 52 years old and he feels like his main goal was to go into the cage and compete at the highest level. Couture feels like he has accomplished just that. Couture isn’t out there to chase a paycheck or be there as a comeback feature just for kicks.
“You want to be remembered as somebody that had integrity and that represented the sport in a positive way,” Couture noted. “I think I accomplished that.”
Couture did not confirm which specific organization approached him about his return.
