UFC Bantamweight Raphael Assuncao Suffers Broken Ankle Injury
The bad news for fans of the UFC’s bantamweight division keeps coming. #4 ranked Raphael Assuncao has revealed that he’s suffered a broken ankle in training that will see him sidelined for a while.
The news comes just after former champion Dominick Cruz announced the heartbreaking news that he has suffered another ACL injury.
Raphael Assuncao has an impressive 7-1 record in the UFC. He has beaten notable fighters such as Bryan Caraway and current champion, TJ Dillashaw.
Assuncao was lobbying for the next shot at Dillashaw for the past while, using his win over him as some leverage.
With both Assuncao and Cruz on the shelf for a while, it looks as if former champion Renan Barao will become the front-runner to fight TJ Dillashaw next. That is unless the UFC is able to Dillashaw to fight his mentor and coach, Urijah Faber.
I am devastated 2 inform that my title shot hopes will be even further delayed due 2 broken ankle suffered in training I am sorry once again
