As to no surprise for most of the MMA world, Chael Sonnen’s debut in Bellator will come against Tito Ortiz.
Bellator officials made the matchup official this evening (October 18th) after being first announced via ESPN.

The Great Western Forum from Inglewood, California will host the event on January 21 at Bellator 170.
Sonnen was initially retired after having to serve a suspension for a failed drug test. He was originally to meet Vitor Belfort at UFC 175 after coaching a season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ in 2014. Sonnen took up various other roles including a commentator for WSOF and hosting his own podcast.
Ortiz is looking to bounce back into the win column after getting submitted by Liam McGeary last September.
So far, this is the only matchup announced for the card.
