Stephen Thompson vs Rory MacDonald Official For June 18th In Ottawa

During Joe Rogan’s UFC Fight Night 83 Fight Companion Podcast, the UFC commentator revealed that Stephen Thompson’s next fight in the UFC’s Octagon is expected to be against Rory McDonald.

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub, was praising Stephen Thompson’s skill set, and suggested his toughest match-up in the welterweight division would be Rory MacDonald. Joe Rogan got wide-eyed and hinted to Schaub that it’s the next fight for the two men the UFC’s made.

Rogan also mentioned that he’s already done some filming of the hype video for the fight, while also realizing that he may have revealed something his bosses at the UFC would not be too thrilled with. Rogan then claimed that since he smokes a lot of marijuana, and he could be wrong.

Stephen Thompson is 7-1 in the UFC and 12-1 overall. His last fight in the Octagon was his most impressive, as he defeated former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks, in the first round at UFC fight Night 82.

Rory MacDonald is 9-3 in the UFC and 18-3 overall. His last fight in the Octagon against champion Robbie Lawler not only won him ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, but also was voted ‘Fight of the Year’ at the 2016 World MMA Awards.


Stephen Thompson vs Rory MacDonald is now official for June 18th in Ottawa, Canada.
