Tarec Saffiedine Pulls Out of Matt Brown Fight With Injury
Former Strikeforce champion, Tarec Saffiedine has suffered a groin injury and is forced out of his headlining fight against Matt Brown at UFC Fight Night 60.
UFC Fight Night 60 takes place on February 14th, 2015 at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
The UFC is currently seeking a replacement to face Matt Brown. Tarec Saffiedine is 15-4 in MMA and 1-1 in the UFC.
Saffiedine defeated Nate Marquardt for the Strikeforce welterweight title back in January of 2013.
This isn’t the first time Saffiedine was forced out of a UFC bout. He was expected to make his UFC debut against Robbie Lalwer at UFC on FOX 8, but was replaced by Siyar Bahadurzada, who was eventually replaced by Bobby Voelker.
Tarec Saffiedine last stepped in the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 54. He lost that night to Rory MacDonald via third-round TKO.
Let’s hope this injury isn’t a preview of whats to come for the UFC in 2015, since injuries have seemed plague the organization for the past 2-years.
