TJ Dillashaw Wants Shot at Jose Aldo if Conor McGregor Loses to Dennis Siver
UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw apparently has aspirations of being a two-division champion. Dillashaw revealed to MMA Junkie that he is rooting for Dennis Siver to defeat Conor McGregor at this weekends UFC Fight Night 59. Because if that happens, he can then make his pitch to fight UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo.
Here’s what Dillashaw had to say:
“I know they want to give him McGregor, so I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that McGregor loses to Siver.
I don’t see how it’s going to happen, but if that happens, hopefully I can call out Aldo. That’d be so sweet to be the first one to hold two belts at the same time.”
TJ Dillshaw shocked the world when he defeated Renan Barao for the UFC bantamweight title at UFC 173. Dillashaw completely outclassed Barao in a dominant performance, that saw him TKO Barao in the last round.
UFC featherweight Conor McGregor has been guaranteed the next title shot against Jose Aldo, should he defeated Dennis Siver this Sunday at UFC Fight Night 59 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Although some fans and media are not thrilled with way the UFC has groomed McGregor to be a title contender, you cannot deny that the Irishman is a huge draw for the sport.
UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has won all seven of his fights in the UFC. It’s unclear if the UFC would consider giving Dillashaw a chance to dethrone Aldo. But a fight with the two men could be interesting, considering the tension between Dillashaw’s Team Alpha Male and Aldo’s Nova Uniao camp.
