UFC fighter Josh Samman passes away at age 28
UFC middleweight fighter Josh Samman has passed away at the age of 28. The MMA world was in shock when it was revealed earlier last week that he was found unconscious and unresponsive. Samman spent several days in a coma before he passed.
Samman began his UFC career as a cast member on TUF 17. He made it all the way to the semi-finals before losing to the eventual season winner, Kelvin Gastelum. Josh Samman would then make his official UFC debut at the TUF 17 finale and defeat Kevin Casey via TKO. He would go on to fight three more times for the organization, compiling a UFC record of 3-2 and an overall MMA record of 12-4.
Earlier this week, some untrustworthy MMA media outlets were reporting that heroin overdose was the cause for this incident, however, FOX Sports ruled out that substance.
Samman’s long-time friend and fellow TUF 17 cast-mate Gilbert Smith revealed the news a short time ago on social media.
