It’s Thanksgiving and we found something to be thankful for. This Thanksgiving we are thankful for this video of Tito Ortiz injecting his turkey and comparing the process to what Chael Sonnen does to himself.
Tito will face Sonnen at Bellator 170 on January 21st in Los Angeles. Chael Sonnen is coming off a two-year suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) after testing positive for PEDs.
He was without a doubt the face of the UFC back in 2001 when Zuffa bought the company. He was the light heavyweight champion at the time. Brash, charismatic and dominant, a triple threat that helped change the perception people had of the sport. Nowadays, at age 41, Tito withstands the test of time and still provides entertaining fights at a highly-competitive level.
Chael is probably the godfather of trash-talking. Eloquent, witty and in your face. Always a top contender, but fell short at championship fights, not just once, but 4 times. First for the WEC middleweight belt in 2007. Then in 2010, in what was probably the closest he ever was to winning UFC gold, he got submitted by Anderson Silva in the fifth round of a bout that saw Sonnen ahead in the cards. However, he later tested positive for elevated testosterone levels. In 2012 he got a rematch against Silva and lost by TKO in the second. He would then move up to light heavyweight and had an immediate championship fight opposite Jon Jones. Once again, Sonnen saw his rival take home the belt.
“I’m sitting here injecting a turkey. Pretty big needle, filling it up with butter but I couldn’t stop thinking about what Chael does to himself,” Ortiz said. “Probably not butter but stuff that he says he gets from a doctor. Punctures the muscle, and injects himself. Just like I’m doing this turkey.”
‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ finished by saying: “He is kind of like a turkey. But don’t you know, juice is bad for you.”SHARE:
