Yet another former Bellator champion made their debut this weekend, as ‘Ill’ Will Brooks competed Friday night on the ‘TUF 23 Finale.’

After pushing for his release from his former organization Bellator MMA, Brooks was granted it on May 14 along with vacating his Bellator Lightweight Title.

Brooks met seasoned vet Ross Pearson in the third fight of the Fox Sports 1 main card. Brooks showed some octagon jitters and his notoriously-known fighting style of being a slow starter. The action was back and forth as well, as Pearson definitely got his shots in and made it a dog fight.

Brooks successfully won his UFC debut with a clean sweep of (29,28) 3x across the judges scorecards. When interviewed by Jon Anik, Brooks was quick to call out fellow former-Bellator Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez.

“Eddie Alvarez, hold onto that belt for a minute. You got away from me in that other organization,” said Brooks.

While Brooks has a ways to go until he challenges for the title, it definitely springs up questions as to who would win between him and newly-crowned champion Eddie Alvarez.
